Safeguarding

The Government has defined the term ‘safeguarding children’ as:

'The process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.’

In addition to the above safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults covers the full range of measures in place to protect young people and vulnerable adults from potential dangers.

At Ruskin Mill Educational Trust (the Trust) we believe that keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe is everybody’s responsibility.

We have a number of designated Safeguarding Officers who have received additional training and support to act as the lead in each of our colleges and we are striving to ensure that the environment within Ruskin Mill Educational Trust is safe and supportive for the children, young people and vulnerable adults in our care.

If you wish to know more please contact one of our Safeguarding Officers or Sharon Harris, Head of Recruitment and Safeguarding for the Trust on or on 01384 399448 or 07531 775 823.
