Academy of Makers
There are currently five craftspeople who run their businesses from workshops based around the courtyard at Butchers Works, Freeman College.
Butcher Works was built in 1819 and renovated in 2006. The Adademy of Makers also incorporates an organic cafe, providing high-quality food for the local university population and the general public.
The Butcher Works Gallery has a programme of themed exhibitions throughout the year, including shows organised by the craftspeople at the Academy. It also includes college shows of student works, such as the end of year exhibition.
