Cultural Events

Everyone is welcome.

The Trust encourages constant exchange between students, staff, tenants, the local community and the wider world. Its mission is to seed the re-invigoration of an entire culture, bringing people together to share ideas, skills, fun, energy and money.

Our very first festival was the ringing of a bell at Michaelmas, and the way in which the colleges mark the passing seasons remain important foci for their local communities.

Throughout the year, each also offers an eclectic and inspiring programme of exhibitions, workshops, courses, drama, music, story-telling and talks, culminating in the annual display of student work in July.

Visitors are coming from ever further afield. Locally, Ruskin Mill itself has become a major contributor to the Nailsworth Festival in early May, whilst Glasshouse and Freeman colleges play pivotal roles in prestigious international events such as the International Festival of Glass and Galvanise! attracting thousands of visitors.
