About Us

Ruskin Mill Educational Trust began life in 1968, when Robin and Barbara Gordon purchased a run-down former fulling-mill in the Horsley valley, Gloucestershire.
Click here for a brief history.

Inspired by the ideals of William Morris, John Ruskin and Rudolf Steiner, the Trust has since developed a unique and brilliantly successful approach to problems of social exclusion, economic decline and environmental degradation. Click here for a summary of our ethos.

Its model has been acclaimed by stakeholders ranging from Ofsted and CSCI to HRH the Prince of Wales.Click here for some examples of how others see us.

The trust operates on three campuses that are simultaneously residential colleges for young people with learning disabilities, seedbeds for economic regeneration and centres for artistic renewal.
But this is only the beginning. Click here to see what we do and our vision and plans.
