RUSKIN APOTHECARY NOW OPEN!

Free drop in clinic and Organic herb shop: Mon – Wed

(12 – 1.30)

Deep in a beautiful valley of Biodynamically tended land, in partnership with Ruskin Mill College, the Apothecary and Plant Study Centre aims to develop and encourage as wide a range of methods for knowing plants as possible. The centre will provide resources for those both new to Medicinal Plants right through to professional Herbalists. The Apothecary supplies Organic/Biodynamic Sustainably Wild Crafted/Local Herbs, and operate as a clinic and advice centre.

• Professional herbal advice and consultations
• A wide range of courses for beginners/intermediate/professional and children
• A network and resource hub to link into community herb projects/schools etc
• Supply of sustainably produced and primarily Organic/Biodynamically grown herbs, tincture and oils

Aims as a study centre include:

• Re-invigoration of old Herbal texts
• Recording of living Oral Herbal traditions
• Evaluation of modern pharmacological data
• Single plant in depth study days/weekends
• Herb tasting
• Goethean and Intuitive Plant Study and Journeying techniques
• Art as a means of connecting to plants

One of the beauties of Herbal Medicine is that many of the medicines we need are growing around us - yet much of the knowledge of how to use these plants has been lost. One Mile Pharmacopeia is a long term project aimed at creating a wide dispensatory from those plants that are growing within one mile of the centre. Involving local community, Ruskin Mill students, and any one with a love of plants, this project will draw on the vast riches surrounding us.
